Women's Board Development Programme

Women on Boards: Comments
"Females bring a naturally different mind-set to board decision making and that makes for more effective corporate governance. The more women are encouraged and enabled to become board members the better the decisions that will be made by boards.”
Ann Berresford ACA, recently appointed to the board of The Pensions Regulator, NED Bath Building Society, and former FD Bank of Ireland UK.
“Executive and non-executive board experiences present such rich career opportunities for women. I have enjoyed doing both, sometimes at once! But beyond their interest, having women in these board roles makes sense for companies too. I am delighted to see such a wonderful programme being developed to help women navigate their way to these roles and for businesses in their turn to find them.”
Sharmila Nebhrajani, CEO Association of Medical Research Charities, NED and Audit Committee Chairman.
“It is very important for senior women to promote other women and to help them to obtain the skills necessary for them to be credible candidates for senior positions. Once women have proven credentials they will have the confidence to be effective around the board table and need not think of themselves as ‘women directors’, but as directors in their own right.”
Lady Barbara Judge, Chairman ‚ÄčIOD, former SEC regulator, lawyer.
“Being involved in an organisation’s strategic direction is challenging and satisfying. Women have so much to offer; they just have to believe they can do it. I hope this course will give them the tools and the confidence to grasp opportunities.”
Baroness Diana Warwick, Chairman of The Human Tissue Authority, NED, former CEO.
At BP&E Global we're passionate about enabling Boards and individuals to reach their potential. With the amount of regulatory discussion, both in the UK and internationally, on diversity and the comments we receive from Boards on their inability to find suitable female Board members we've developed a unique women's development programme for women whose next step is to Board level or who are already there.

Designed as a very practical 'how to' for very able women, the result is a very different Board development programme, which comprises three elements in three parts. The first two provide the opportunity to meet leading women at evening sessions too. The final day consolidates the learning and provides the springboard to put personal plans into action.

The programme comprises:

  • Building Leadership Presence
  • Gathering Intelligence and Driving Results
  • Holding Your Own

There are also individual options of Executive Coaching and Board Essentials (key topics for Board members).

Benefits to Firms

  • Support top talent to compete effectively with male counterparts
  • Demonstrate that commitment to diversity goes right to the top
  • Create future role models for women in your business
  • Finally shift the gender balance at Board level

Benefits to Individuals

  • Identify the value you bring to the Board table
  • Feel confident of your contribution to the wider business
  • Understand the bias you may encounter and how to manage it
  • Recognise the dynamics at work at Board level
  • Apply tools and techniques that make your selection inevitable
  • Select the continuing support that suits you
